Balsamic Glazed Pork Loin for Slow Cooker

Adapted from “Passionate Penny Pincher- Slow Cooker Series”

Ingredients:

Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 TBSP or less of arrow root powder or tapioca flour

  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 2 TBSPs soy sauce

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl mix together the sage, salt, pepper and garlic. Then add the 1 TBSP of water to form a paste. Rub paste all over pork loin roast.

  2. Add the 1/2 cup of water to a slow cooker and place pork loin roast inside.

  3. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hrs or until internal temp of roast reaches 145 degrees.

  4. Approx. an hour prior to the roast being done, mix together the “Glaze” ingredients in a small saucepan MINUS the arrow root powder or tapica flour. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for about 3 minutes, or until the sugar melts and all is combined well. Add SLOWLY just enough arrow root powder or tapioca flour to thicken to a glaze consistency. Continue to stir until combined well. A whisk works well for mixing.

  5. During the last hour of the pork loin roast cooking, brush the entire roast with the “Glaze” about every 20 minutes.

  6. Serve the pork loin roast with any remaining “Glaze.”
