Cooking and Taste:
~The fat content and higher yolk to white ratio make duck eggs ideal for baking, soufflés and quiches! This also makes their taste richer compared to chicken eggs. Some even explain the taste as a bit sweet!
~Most recipes that call for 2 chicken eggs you can substitute 1 duck egg.
Fun Facts:
~Did you know that chickens actually lay MORE eggs per year than ducks?!
~Ducks must have a water source to completely submerge their head into in order to clean out their sinuses.
~Although I enjoy baking and making frittatas with duck eggs, I still prefer a good ole chicken egg just to eat. That is just me though- we know plenty of people, just like you who now LOVE duck eggs!
Whether you choose CHICKEN or DUCK, you can’t go wrong!
